Notes from Greenland

Here is a video from our work in Greenland summer 2022. This was made by PhD student Jaehyeon Lee in watersheds near Kangerlussuaq, on the west coast. Photos below the video provide some background atmosphere on the ice, on the land, and in the rivers. Our objectives are to understand the changes in water chemistry between the melting on the ice sheet and its transport to the ocean100 km away. Our thermal imaging drone was made by a French company, and as everyone knows, when you want robust hi-tech gear, buy French! Um, yeah, so maybe that’s why our drone mostly didn’t work. But we did get a few awesome shots and we are working on a paper that we hope to get out later in 2023.
